Bachelor Nation’s Josh Seiter Pretended to Be Transgender as an ‘Experiment’
Bachelor nation Jos Seiter now says that he pretended to be transgender for months as an experiment.
“Over the past five months, I have been conducting a social experiment online to expose how gullible and how deceptive the left is,” Seiter, 37, said during a Tuesday, Oct. 15 appearance on “Prime Time With Alex Stein.” podcast. “The whole idea of postmodern gender ideology is ridiculous and absurd, and I’ve tried to be the most extreme version of it and take it to its logical end to show how ridiculous it is that people can actually believe that biological males are magically are transformed into women. because they have a gender crisis.”
Seiter, who was eliminated in week 1 of the competition Kaitlyn Bristowe‘s season of The bachelorette in 2015, first posted about being transgender in May.
“I no longer want to hide who I am, and I no longer want to deal with the mental turmoil that comes with suppressing such an important [part] from me,” he shared in one Instagram statement at the time. “So I ask for your thoughts and prayers – and patience – as I continue my transition.”
Seiter then began posting videos of himself wearing makeup, jewelry and women’s clothing and discussing the transgender experience in a way that made some people wonder if he was mocking it. In one video shared earlier this week, he said he had “thought long and hard, no pun intended” about whether he would undergo lower surgery before deciding against it.
“Our masculinity does not negate our femininity,” he said in the clip.
Seiter’s videos have generated a lot of reaction online.
‘Really sad that you make the transition so ridiculous. It is detrimental to a community that already faces so many barriers to simply living their authentic lives,” one Instagram user said in his latest video.
“Your behavior during your ‘transition’ was offensive and appalling,” another person said after Seiter confirmed his transition was a hoax.
This is not the first time Seiter has caused controversy. He was accused of faking his own death in August 2023 after a statement claiming he had died was shared via his Instagram account. Seiter claimed his account had been hacked and rejected accusations that he posted the statement himself for attention.
“People like to accuse me of a lot of things,” he said during an August 2023 appearance Ashley Iaconetti And Jared Haibon‘Almost Famous’ podcast. “I think it’s funny.”
Seiter also raised eyebrows by sharing screenshots of an email in April 2023 that Gypsy Rose Blanchard allegedly sent him after he sent her flirty messages.
“I may look cute, but I have a smart mouth, and I’m not afraid to tell you to go for yourself,” Blanchard, 33, wrote, adding that she was married and that people like Seiter “disgusting” her.
Seiter wrote in a subsequent Instagram Story, “I’m heartbroken that things didn’t work out between me and Gypsy, but I won’t give up on finding love.”
