How did the casting process work for your role in “Assassin’s Creed Shadows”?
I have an offer. They told me it was ‘Assassin’s Creed’, which was the first game I ever played when I was in high school. I didn’t have a PS3 or a PS-Like at the time, so I had to go to my friend’s house to play ‘Assassin’s Creed’. And we used to gather at my friend’s house and in turn and played it. So when I heard that it was “Assassin’s Creed” and the game would take place in Japan, I thought to myself: “I have to be part of this project.”
What can you tell us about your character?
My character Gennojo is a key character that helps the main characters to follow and eliminate their goals. And he is part of the Shinobi League. My character, you can actually recruit it in their team and play in the game. And you can choose what you want to do with the character, what you don’t want to do with the character. And he has my face on him – Mackenyu’s face, but it’s Gennojo. So that was pretty cool.
Have you done movement shelter to act the role, or strictly voice acting?
We have not done a motion. We did a scan, so as I said, he has my face on him. I wish we had time to do a motion cap and the body part, but I still had fun. I was in Toronto for a few days and we recorded all dialogue. And it was my first time I ever played a game character, so it was also a pretty nice experience.
There is a TV series “Assassin’s Creed” that has been in the making at Netflix – would you be interested in participating in this role or another?
Please get my name there.
What can you tell us about season 2 “One Piece”?
I try not to spoil anything, but many new characters come out. De Boog – [“One Piece” creator Eiichiro Oda,] Oda sensesi has started covering the announced until Chopper comes out. And I met Chopper! He was the cute! Oh, my God, I am a chopper fan. So just being able to act next to him is crazy. It was something special to take home.
