Artists Equity names Amy Baer as president of film and television

Artists Equity, the studio founded by Ben Affleck and Matt Damon, has hired veteran producer and executive Amy Baer as president of film and television.
Since launching in 2022, Artists Equity has produced ‘Air’, ‘The Instigators’,‘ and ‘The accountant 2,Many of these have either Affleck or Damon starring in them. The company’s upcoming releases include ‘The Rip,’ an action film starring Damon, Affleck, Teyana Taylor and Scott Adkins, directed by Joe Carnahan, as well as ‘Animals,’ a thriller directed by Affleck, who stars alongside Gillian Anderson, Steven Yeun and Kerry Washington.
For more than 13 years, Baer has been president of Gidden Media, which she founded in 2012, where she produced “The Apprentice,” “Last Vegas” and “Mary Shelley.” From 2020 to 2023, Baer also served as president of Landline Pictures, where he oversaw the development and production of films including “Jerry & Marge Go Large” and the upcoming comedy “The Best Is Yet to Come,” reuniting the “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” team of Matthew Broderick and Alan Ruck.
Before starting her own company, Baer launched CBS Films and served as president and CEO for four years. She previously spent seventeen years at Sony Pictures, where she oversaw “Moneyball,” “The Pursuit of Happyness,” “Something’s Gotta Give,” and “Adaptation.” Baer is a member of AMPAS, PGA, Producers United, Film Independent and SAG, and recently completed a six-year term as board chair of Women in Film.
Baer will report to Affleck, co-founder and CEO of Artists Equity, and Chief Operating Officer Dillon West.
