Apple’s Siri upgrade could reportedly be powered by Google Gemini

Apple’s siri overhaul can contain an AI-driven web search tool with technology powered by Google’s Gemini, according to a new report from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. The iPhone maker, which was criticized because he fell behind in the AI race, postponed his long-awaited Siri update until 2026. In the meantime, the company has started looking to determine whether its own AI models will only work well enough to make its improved Siri competitive with the AI answer engines that are available today from technical companies such as OpenAI, Perxicity and Google.
Apple could turn to Google per Bloomberg for a solution to its problems. The report claims that Apple and Google have reached a formal agreement this week in which Apple will test a Google AI model in Siri. If successful, the technology can also be used in other areas of iPhone software, including the Safari browser and Spotlight Search, which is available on the home screen.
In previous years, Spotlight seemed to arouse to become a sort of rival for Google, because it enabled iPhone users to circumvent web search assignments to get basic answers, such as information about actors, musicians, TV programs and films, among other things. With AI chatbots, however, consumers can now involve rapid answers about a wide range of topics that go beyond those on Wikipedia.
The report suggests that the interface of the improved seek experience will use a combination of text, photos, videos and local interesting points, as well as an AI-driven summary function. It will also be able to use the personal data of users and to have them navigated on their devices through speech.
