Apple gets ready for AI in the enterprise with new ChatGPT configuration options

While AI technology finds its way to the company, Apple rolls new tools from that giving companies more detailed control over where and how their employees can use in artificial intelligence. With the release of Apple’s Software -Updates arriving in September, the Tech Giant adds another option for Enterprise customers: the possibility to configure the use of an Enterprise version of OpenAI’s Chatgpt.

Apple has already seen the demand for Chatgpt for EnterpriseOf which OpenAi says it now has more than 5 million business customers. These companies use the AI service to connect to their own internal data when using AI agents.

However, what is interesting about the way Apple’s integration with chatgpt for enterprise is structured is that it is not hard coded to limit or allow Chatgpt yourself.

Instead, Apple’s support documents indicate that IT managers are able to limit or allow an “external” artificial intelligence provider, not just the technology of OpenAi. That leaves the door open for Apple to forge other deals with large AI players who are used in the Enterprise environment, without having to cod things at the protocol level.

Because Apple has rolled out new AI functions, aimed at the end users of its devices – such as writing tools or visual intelligence – it has also been rolled out for IT departments to control access to those functions.

Although the company fully believes in its private cloud calculation architecture, it knows that it can take time for companies to agree to make changes to sensitive systems and data. That is why it leaves companies to decide whether, for example, data should be processed in the cloud or on the device.

In addition to having companies choose AI functions, this installation enables companies to decide whether the AI requests from employees can go to Chatgpt’s cloud service, even when the company does not have its own company with OpenAI. (Chatgpt, which you will remember, is integrated with Apple Intelligence on the Apple software platform to handle AI requests that Apple’s own cloud is not possible. Because requests never go from Apple’s cloud to chatgpt – it is or – it is easier to eliminate the chatgpt setting.)

Although AI updates are a peak of the business-related updates that appear in the fall, Apple also rolls out other new functions for the largest customers.

It will launch an API for its Apple Business Manager service, so that the functions of the service can be integrated into other IT tools, such as MDM products, including stock management services or help agencies. It also debuts new tools for device management to make it easier to migrate devices to another management service – something that often comes to M&A scenarios when a new company takes over employees and assets.

Apple’s return to the service solution, with which devices are quickly wiped out and prepared for the next user, now offers the option to leave all installed apps, to store time and bandwidth, because it does not have to reinstall administrators and users. In addition, the service will be available for the first time for Vision Pro.

On shared Macs, a verified guest mode can log in employees with account data from their identity provider and then log out their data (but no apps). Another option allows companies to add NFC readers to Macs, so that employees can simply tap their watch or telephone to log in.
