Anthropic launches new push for enterprise agents with plugins for finance, engineering, and design

Anthropic was unveiled on Tuesday its new enterprise agents programthe most aggressive effort yet to integrate agentic AI into everyday workplaces.
In an official briefing, Anthropic’s head of Americas Kate Jensen told reporters that the new system would finally deliver on the promise of agentic AI. “2025 was intended to be the year agents would transform the business, but the hype proved largely premature,” Jensen said. “It wasn’t a failure of effort. It was a failure of approach.”
Under the new program, companies can use the plug-in system to deploy turnkey agents to assist with common business tasks, including financial research and technical specifications. The result is a major opportunity to grow Anthropic’s enterprise customer base – and a significant threat to SaaS products that currently perform these functions.
“We believe the future of work means everyone has their own customs agent,” Anthropic product officer Matt Piccolella told TechCrunch.
Much of the enterprise agent program is based on previously announced technology, specifically Claude Cowork and the plug-in system, which was announced in the research preview on January 30. The systems launched today are largely aimed at making these tools easier to deploy within a business, including private software marketplaces, controlled data flows, and custom plugins. The result is a system for deploying Claude-powered agents with the same controls that a corporate IT department would expect when deploying software.
“Administrators want to have really, really, really customized workflows and skills for their specific organization,” says Piccolella. “And this allows the administrator of a Claude Cowork organization to do this in a very centralized way.”
The stock plugins included at launch are aimed at specific departments found within most companies, including agents designed for finance, legal, and HR departments. Each plugin covers basic skills common to different companies, although Anthropic expects companies will customize each plugin to align with unique needs and practices.
In the case of finance, the Claude stock plugin provides the basic information and data flows needed to perform market and competitive research, financial modeling, and other common tasks for finance teams. The HR plugin includes skills for generating job descriptions, introductory materials, and offer letters, among other things.
The launch also includes a number of new business connectors, including integrations for Gmail, DocuSign, and Clay, among others. These connectors, previously unavailable, allow agents to pull data and context directly from the connected system.
