Peterman’s sincere memory came just a few days after Burrell, 55, was found unconscious in her apartment in Manhattan, reportedly surrounded by around 100 diverse pills.
Peterman, 53, shared her memories of the star during a private wake to the Upper East Side on 20 June.
Their friendship flourished during a famous edition of the Food Network series from 2017 Worst chefs in AmericaA cooking competition that saw the two women forge a bond about their shared challenges and triumphs in the kitchen.
To commemorate Burrell’s impact, Peterman posted various nostalgic photos with the deceased chef and actress Nicole Sullivan, who also participated in the show.
“After she had taught us to be better chefs, she was stuck with us. Chef Anne became a friend,” wrote Peterman, merging the warmth that radiated from Burrell both on and outside the screen.
The actress further described their relationship and said: “I may not see her often, but when I did, we made it up! We ate enough, laughed enough and were probably loud enough to last until next time. She was funny, smart and passionate. She really gave people to teach and make more confidence in the kitchen.”
A particularly memorable night stood out for Peterman amidst the years of friendship. In her tribute, she told how Burrell orchestrated a special celebration for her sister’s milestone.
Peterman remembered: “I called her when I brought my sister to NYC for her 50th.
“I hoped for a restaurant recommendation, but of course she did more. She made a reservation, took us and made sure that my sister was treated like a star.”
She added: “And then she took us to do Karaoke until the early hours. One of my favorite nights ever, and she let it happen. My deepest participation in her family and loved ones. I feel really happy that I spent time with her. She was spectacular.”
A New York City fire brigade Reportedly said Burrell “Doa (dead on arrival)” when the respondents arrived.
While an investigation is still underway in Burrell’s death, reports recently claimed that the deceased chef had a couple of pills when her husband did not respond to their shower floor.
A source told RadarOnline.com: “Anne’s childnesses are a textbook of someone who has pain exaggerated when it comes to friendliness for friends.
“She desperately tried to hide her private pain.”
The tragic events unfolded on June 17, 2025, when Burrell’s husband did not respond to her in their bathroom. Despite the rapid response from emergency services, the 55-year-old chef could not be revived.
From now on the cause of death remains indefinite, so that the culinary community and fans remain in a state of shock and mourning.
