Anil Kapoor action drama ‘Subedaar’ sets Prime Video Bow

Prime Video has given a global premiere to “Subedaar,” an action drama starring Anil Kapoor (“Slumdog Millionaire”) and Radhikka Madan (“The Man Who Feels No Pain”). A teaser has been revealed.
Directed by Suresh Triveni, known for his work on “Tumhari Sulu”, “Jalsa” and “Daldal”, the project is produced by Vikram Malhotra, Kapoor and Triveni through Opening Image Films in association with Anil Kapoor Film & Communication Network.
The film revolves around Subedaar Arjun Maurya, a retired soldier who navigates a world where his traditional values face modern challenges. Kapoor’s character faces crime and corruption while dealing with strained family relationships. Set in the heart of India, the film is positioned as a cinematic, raw and intense exploration of honor amid social decay.
Triveni and Prajwal Chandrashekar wrote the screenplay. The supporting cast includes Saurabh Shukla, Aditya Rawal, Faisal Malik and Mona Singh in key roles.
“‘Subedaar’ is both a high-octane action film and a deeply moving father-daughter story. It features a stellar performance from Anil Kapoor playing an action hero that will make people root for him from the start,” said Nikhil Madhok, Director and Head of Originals, Prime Video India. “We are proud to collaborate with Suresh Triveni, Anil Kapoor, Vikram Malhotra and the entire team on ‘Subedaar’ and look forward to bringing it to audiences in India and around the world.”
Vikram Malhotra, partner at Opening Image Films and producer of the project, described the film as “a never-before-seen protagonist shaped by service, discipline and sacrifice.” He added that the collaboration brought together the right creative voices to authentically build the world of the story.
“With superstar and powerhouse Anil Kapoor at the center, the film offers audiences an immersive cinematic experience like never before, exclusively on Prime Video,” said Malhotra.
The film will be available in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu languages. “Subedaar” will premiere on Prime Video on March 5.
