Andy Cohen’s son wants police drone for Christmas: ‘Watching the news?’
Andy Cohen5-year-old son Ben has quite the holiday wish list.
“He had me help him write a letter to Santa, and he said he wanted a police drone for himself, which is very timely,” Cohen, 56, said. We weekly exclusively while promoting his collaboration with Fresca Mixed. “A Lego police drone that really flies. I said, ‘I don’t think that exists, but okay.’ It comes at the right time.”
Cohen joked, “I was like, ‘What have you been watching the news?'” (The television host was referring to the recent reports of drones flying over New Jersey.)
Ben also wanted to make sure Santa came to see his two-year-old sister Lucy.
“He asked for bath toys for Lucy and he wants a set of Valentine’s cards so he can make Valentine’s Day for me because he loves me,” Cohen said. “I couldn’t believe it.”
Although Cohen’s holidays have been focused on children since he became a father, the… Watch what’s happening live host still finds time to have his grown-up fun — namely, hosting CNNs New Year’s Eve live next to friend Anderson Cooper.
“I’m bringing over a few producers from Watch what’s happening live because we are the fun people,” Cohen said Us. “Anderson imports the fun. CNN is about the news. He brings out the joy of my team, which is great.”
Before the broadcast, Cohen said he and Cooper, 57, are “planning a lot of fun games” to play before midnight.
“A few years ago, around 11:45 p.m., they said, ‘Oh, you’ve got fifteen minutes until midnight,’ and there were no guests,” Cohen said. “I remember talking [and] At some point my thoughts started to wander.”
This year, however, they are prepared.
“We have a lot of nice guests,” he teased. “There are a lot of nice surprises and I’m very excited about it.”
Even with the mishaps that can happen during a live show, Cohen says he’s learned to “have fun” while on air. “Last year, Anderson and I had the most fun we’d ever had. It was great.”
Those familiar with Cohen and Cooper’s New Year’s Eve broadcast know that the drinks are always flowing. Cohen – as expected – puts himself in charge of the libations.
“I literally take a duffel bag with a few bottles of tequila. Some Fresca mix for me during the hour. The tequila is for shots and then for shot glasses. I’m bringing ice cream,” he explained. “I bring this myself. I’m going to the bodega. I get this stuff.”
As he prepares for 2025, Fresca Mixed is top of mind for the television presenter who has teamed up with the brand to ring in the new year in style.
