An-Li Bogan Joins Emily Deschanel in Criminal Profiler Pilot on NBC

An-Li Bogan has been cast in Dean Georgaris and John Fox’s untitled NBC drama pilot, Variety has learned.

Bogan will star alongside previously announced lead actor Emily Deschanel in the pilot, which is inspired by the real-life work of internationally known expert profiler and author Dr. Ann Burgess.

The logline for the pilot reads: “Professor Georgia Ryan (Deschanel) is a groundbreaking psychologist who is challenging the field of criminology by shifting the investigative focus to the victim rather than just the perpetrator, uncovering the crucial clues left behind by more traditional methods. Alongside her team, this groundbreaking expert consults with the FBI to solve the most baffling and elusive cases.”

Bogan will play Natalie Washington. According to the official character description: “She lives with hyperthymesia, a rare condition that allows her to remember every moment of every day of her life with perfect clarity. This extraordinary gift makes her an unparalleled research tool: details that others forget, she immediately remembers; patterns that others miss, she immediately sees.”

Bogan is known for her roles in films such as ‘The American Society of Magical Negroes’ and short films such as ‘Let’ and ‘Half Moon’. She recently wrapped filming on the indie film “Echo Lake.” She also appeared in TV shows such as ‘Bull’ and ‘Elementary’ on CBS

Bogan is repped by Gersh and Brillstein Entertainment Partners.

Georgaris and Fox are writers and executive producers of the pilot, while John Davis executive produces through Davis Entertainment. Deschanel will also produce in addition to starring. Burgess is a consulting producer, as is Steve Constantine. Universal Television will produce.
