Unlucky Amy Schumer has found herself at the center of a high-profile online backlash over her appearance as she formally decided to end her marriage – with critics taking aim at her appearance even as she described the moment as one of self-care rather than revenge.
RadarOnline.com can reveal that the 44-year-old comedian just confirmed her divorce from chef Chris Fischer, 45, in New York County court records, weeks after publicly announcing their separation.
The filing followed a wave of attention on social media, fueled by bikini photos Schumer shared Instagramwhere she documented a 50-pound weight loss and reflected on health, perimenopause, and recovery after years of medical challenges.
Schumer proudly posted photos of her looking slimmer while packing for a trip, explaining in her caption, “My mom took these photos of me while I was packing for a trip. And the last photo I take on a trip. This year is about self-care and self-love. No makeup. No filter.”
She added: “Let’s all appreciate our health, our families, our friends and have the best year of our lives. We move forward with no regrets. Just love.”
Friends and fellow celebrities quickly offered support.
Paris Hilton commented on the post with a heart eyes emoji, while Courteney Cox wrote: “You are beautiful Amy!”

Despite the praise, RadarOnline.com can reveal that Amy has been hit by online trolls who have been far less friendly.
Sources close to Schumer said the response illustrated a known double standard. One said: “She is used to gagging about her appearance and shares it all the time in her stand-up.
“But being separated at a time when she’s just trying to be honest about her body and her health feels particularly cruel.
“If even this is mocked, it shows she can’t win no matter what she does.”
Schumer has been open about her use of the GLP-1 drug Mounjaro to ditch her extra wood, after previously suffering side effects from Ozempic.
In a now-deleted post, she addressed speculation about cosmetic procedures and motives behind her drive to lose weight, writing, “I’m not getting Botox or filler. I didn’t lose 30 pounds, I lost 50 pounds. Not to look pretty, which does feel nice and temporary. I did it to survive.”
She added that in addition to perimenopause, she also suffered from Cushing’s syndrome, a condition linked to elevated cortisol levels.
The timing of the response coincides with Schumer’s confirmation that her seven-year marriage is officially ending.
When she initially announced the split on Instagram last month, she wrote: “Blah blah blah Chris and I have made the difficult decision to end our marriage after seven years.
