Amazon Kindle’s new feature uses AI to generate recaps for books in a series

Amazon introduces one New “Recaps” function For Kindle users to help them remember plot points and character arches before they pick up the newest book in a series. Although the company’s press release does not mention for the new AI function, Amazon confirmed to WAN that summaries are generated.
“We use technology, including Genai and Amazon Moderators, to make short summaries of books that accurately reflect book capacity,” said Amazon spokesperson Ale Iraheta in an E -mail statement.

Users of Kindle Device in the United States can now view short summaries for books they have bought or borrowed for thousands of best-selling English e-books in series. Amazon is planning to bring the function for Recaps to the Kindle app for iOS.

To gain access to summaries, users must have the latest Kindle software. Users can check whether a series has a summary by searching for the “Show recapes” button on the Seriepage in their Kindle library or via the “View Recaps” option in the Series menu.
Before you can read the summary, you will be warned that it contains spoilers about large plot points and characters. As soon as you recognize this, you will be brought to the summary.
“By adding a new level of convenience to series reading, the Recaps function allows readers to dive deeper into complex worlds and characters without losing the joy of discovery, all, while a continuous reading experience in every genre is guaranteed,” Amazon wrote in the blog post.
The company says that recaps are available for all kinds of series, from Epic Fantasy series to mysterious thrillers, including trending titles and old favorites.
