Alison Brie to shine in witness protection pilot at FX
Alison Brie is planned for the leading role in an FX drama pilot coming from Hannah Fidell and Gina Welch.
The official logline states: “A violent confrontation drives a high-end DC Madame (Brie) to encourage her partner and to enter into witness protection in Maine with her adolescent daughter.”
The project was first announced in March 2023 with a pilot obligation. At the time, David Chase was confirmed as a co-creator and executive producer, because the show was based on one of the previously non-produced SCRIPS from which Fidell had written a contemporary view. According to a person with knowledge of the situation, Chase left the project because of the planning of conflicts with a film that he prepares.
Fidell and Welch serve as writers, executive producers and co-show runners. Fidell will also direct. Nicole Lambert from Riverain Pictures remains on board as an executive producer. FX Productions is the studio.
Brie earned strong praise for her work at the AMC drama ‘Mad Men’, in which she played as Trudy Campbell. She would then play the leading role in the beloved NBC Sitcom “Community”, who is currently preparing a follow -up film on Peacock. She then played leading roles in the Netflix animation series “Bojack Hanseman” and the live action show “Glow”. Her work in “Glow” earned her two golden globe nominations. Her film credits include “Somebody I Dy I Dy Yet To Know”, in which played, produced and written together with her husband, Dave Franco. Other films on her CV are “The Lego Movie” franchise, “Promising young woman” and the upcoming film “Masters of the Universe”.
Fidell made her directing debut with ‘A Teacher’, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival 2013, where Fidell had also written the film. She then adjusted it in a limited series of the same name at FX with Kate Mara and Nick Robinson in the lead roles. Fidell served as a writer, director, showrunner and executive producer in the show. She has also written and directed the films “6 years” and “A Long Dumb Road”, of which she also produced the latter. She recently directed episodes from shows such as ‘Pam & Tommy’, ‘The Act’ and ‘Casual’.
Welch was the maker, executive producer and showrunner on “Clip, the FX mini -series about former Los Angeles Clippers -owner Donald Sterling and coach Doc Rivers. Welch also worked on the FX series” Under the Banner of Heaven “, as well as” The Terror “and” Eleven station station. “
