Alicia Silverstone ‘does not want to mess it up’ with reboot

Alicia Silverstone wants to do well with the upcoming “clueless” reboot.

In April it was announced that Silverstone would repeat her role of Cher Horowitz in a “Clueless” follow -up series in Peacock. She recently sat down with Entertainment tonight To discuss the project.

“I can’t wait to take a step back in the skin of Cher and her chic designer shoes that will of course be used carefully, Duh, because she has evolved,” Silverstone said. “This is 2025, she does not wear the new things, unless it is sustainable or vegan. We will have to see how far we can go with it.”

Silverstone added that she had initially “never thought” a “clueless” reboot because she didn’t want to keep the inheritance of the original not -not. But she is now confident that the follow -up series will ‘honor’ the source material.

“They are very early stages,” she said. “I was clearly excited. I never thought that, that was something I would ever do because I would not want to mess that we all love. We will do our utmost to honor the original film that we love and also bring something new. That is the goal, and I believe we will do that goal.”

Josh Schwartz, Stephanie Savage and Jordan Weiss will write and implement the series. Silverstone will both executive products and stars. Original “clueless” writer-director Amy Heckling and producer Robert Lawrence also serve as executive producers. CBS Studios will produce in collaboration with Universal Television.
