Alexander McCall Smith’s Isabel Dalhousie novels that are adapted for TV
Bestsellerse author Alexander McCall Smith’s Edinburgh-Set Isabel Dalhousie Series of NOVELEN-also known as the series “The Sunday Philosophy Club” is brought to the small screen.
Synchronicity films (“The Tattooist of Auschwitz,” “Mayflies”, “The Cry”) have chosen the rights to the internationally popular books, connected to Andrea Gibb (“Miss Austen”, “Mayflies”) to adjust them for television and All3Media International on board.
‘Dalhousie’ is set as a repairable crime series and follows the deliberately established and stubborn independent main character, nor a detective nor a police officer, but rather a philosopher and the editor of the Journal of Applied Ethics. As the description is, it is “Isabel’s in -depth curiosity and a strong sense of morality that see her in mysteries that, to be honest, none of her things may be.”
“I am very happy to adjust the adventures of Alexander McCall Smith’s delicious amateur, Isabel Dalhousie for television,” Gibb said. “She is a fascinating character with a permanent curiosity driven by a strong moral code and a belief in philosophical thinking, making this series incredibly attractive to dramatize.”

The format ‘Story of the Week’ is set in Scotland’s paved capital of galleries, investment banks, cozy cafés and beautiful views and will see Dalhousie ‘Story of the Week’ in new mysteries in every series, according to the description, ‘a new philosophical quandary that is answered and a rich lifetime of stories.’ ‘

Dalhousie is developing as a 6 × 60 series, produced by synchronicity films and distributed by All3Media International. Mundell and Synchronicity’s Head of Development Deanne Cunningham (“Endeavor”, “cold feet”) will produce executive for synchronicity films, alongside GIBB who will adjust the Script of McCall Smith’s Romans. Both McCall Smith and Gibb will also serve as executive producers. The Isabel Dalhousie series currently consists of fifteen novels, the most recent addition is ‘the conditions of unconditional love’.
