Air Canada resumes operations in Quito | News

Air Canada, Canada’s national airline, announces the resumption of its non-stop flights to Quito from December this year. The operation includes three weekly flights between Montreal and Quito, and one weekly frequency between Toronto and Quito.

Air Canada’s return to Quito is the result of continued efforts by Corporación Quiport, which has been in negotiations with the airline in recent years. Air Canada will launch the flights on December 4 this year and the seasonal flight will run until the end of March 2027.
Air Canada will operate these flights with Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft, with a capacity of 255 passengers, according to the following schedule:

• Montreal-Quito, arriving Thursday, Saturday and Monday at 12:10 AM, with the return flight Quito-Montreal scheduled on Thursday, Saturday and Monday at 9:00 AM.
• Toronto-Quito, arriving on Sunday at 00:10, with the return flight Quito-Toronto on Sunday at 09:00.

The increase in connectivity not only opens the door to greater tourism exchange, but also serves as a bridge to unite peoples and cultures, bringing the Ecuadorian community living in Canada closer to their country of origin.

“With an extensive global network, the expansion of Air Canada’s winter program strengthens our hubs as world-class global gateways, delivering fast and convenient travel. Quito represents a strategic and exciting addition to our network that will help strengthen tourism, commerce and connectivity. In addition, our flights to Quito from our hubs in Toronto and Montreal will provide our customers and Aeroplan members with more attractive options to travel to Ecuador from virtually anywhere in the world, to, from or via Canada,” said Mark Galardo, Executive Vice President, Chief Commercial Officer and President of Cargo at Air Canada.

With these routes we are expanding the network of non-stop destinations from Quito, strengthening our position as Ecuador’s main gateway and the best-connected city in the country.”
