A look inside Liam Payne, Kate Cassidy’s outing in Buenos Aires before his death
Liam Payne enjoyed “quality time” with girlfriend Kate Cassidy in Buenos Aires in the days before his shocking death.
We weekly confirmed on Wednesday, October 16, that the One Direction alum died at the age of 31 after falling from a third-floor balcony at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Prior to his death, Payne shared a glimpse into his vacation with 21-year-old Cassidy via social media.
In a Snapchat video that appeared to have been posted earlier this week, Payne shared that he had a “lovely day in Argentina” as he and Cassidy enjoyed “coffee and breakfast.”
Another post featured a selfie of the couple with the caption ‘quality time’, while a third photo saw the couple posing in front of a mirror while wearing swimsuits.
‘We’re going to ride some horses. I think I’m going to play polo again which will put me out of action for about six weeks,” Payne told his social media followers via an additional clip from the social media platform.
In the video, Payne admitted that although he wanted to play polo “for fun,” it was difficult to do so and that his neck and back sometimes hurt from “swinging that mallet or mallet.”
He added: “It hurts a lot. It is very hard to do, but we are enjoying it here.”
Through her, Cassidy also teased snippets of their vacation and time together over the past few weeks TikTok account.
The influencer shared a montage of photos in a post upload on October 12, captioning it “80% of these photos are food.”
Several photos show Cassidy and Payne during their horseback riding session.
Alongside the photo of Payne on a horse, Cassidy wrote: “I’m very grateful for the simple things in life” and added a heart emoji and a love heart.
“Life has been catching up these past few days,” she added alongside a photo of herself on a horse, while another photo was captioned: “I want to elaborate more on this.”
Cassidy also shared many photos of the food she and Payne ate during their trip, including an empty plate with the caption, “Always good food.”
In one photo, the One Direction star was captured from the waist down as the pair cuddled on a couch and ate sweets.
“Skittles and BF,” Cassidy captioned the photo.
A few other images showed the other sweet treats consumed, with one photo captioned: “Oreos for breakfast anyone?” while another read: “Cookies were an everyday thing.”
The pair also spent a few nights on the town in Argentina, where they attended a Paul McCartney performance when the former Beatles member played River Plate Stadium earlier this month. Payne also appeared at former One Direction bandmate Niall Horan’s show at Movistar Arena on October 2, where he was spotted dancing from a private box and chatting with fans.
While it is unclear whether Cassidy was still in Argentina at the time of Payne’s death, police are investigating the musician’s death after he responded to a 911 call prior to his fatal fall.
Us confirmed Wednesday that Buenos Aires city police were dispatched from Station 14B during the afternoon to the CasaSur Palermo Hotel, where Payne was staying. The officers responded to a call reporting an “aggressive male who may be under the influence of drugs or alcohol,” according to the official police report.
“At 5:04 p.m., we were alerted through 911 and the integrated public safety system to a person in the courtyard of the CasaSur hotel,” Alberto Crescenti, director of SAME (Emergency Medical Assistance System), said in a TV interview via La Natie.
He noted that seven minutes later a nearby SAME team arrived on the scene and “confirmed the man’s death.”
“Unfortunately, the fall left him with injuries incompatible with life, so we had to confirm the death,” Crescenti said, adding: “There was no possibility of resuscitation.”
