A look inside Kristi Noem and Corey Lewandowski’s rumored romance

Since Noem and Lewandowski took charge, they are said to have overhauled the leadership and initiated the firing or demotion of about 80 percent of the field’s senior career leaders.

On one occasion, Noem “had to switch planes after a maintenance problem was discovered, but her blanket was not moved to the second plane.” She attempted to fire the Coast Guard pilot, although he was reportedly reinstated after Noem and her team realized there was no alternate pilot available to fly them home.

In another incident, Lewandowski attempted to obtain a law enforcement badge and a federally issued weapon despite not being a trained officer.

“The administration was preparing to appoint Tom Feeley, a former top ICE official in New York, as its new director when Lewandowski asked Feeley if he would be willing to issue badges and weapons to him and several other political officials. Feeley declined, and he was subsequently passed over for the top job at ICE,” the administration said. WJ report stated.

It added: “Lewandowski then turned to ICE’s legal office for help writing a legal justification for the award of the badge and gun. A top ICE attorney, Ken Padilla, also declined to sign, and days later he was placed on administrative leave. He was later demoted and transferred to FEMA, the people said. Padilla declined to comment… Lewandowski eventually persuaded other attorneys to sign. The ICE director’s autopen was used to to sign paperwork, people said.”
