Colman Domingo says story ‘I’m breathtaking’

Colman Domingo is preparing for a new season of ‘Euphoria’. Speak with Variety Hours after receiving a Golden Globe nomination for his performance in ‘Sing Sing,’ Domingo revealed that he spoke with creator Sam Levinson about the new season — and that he’s a big fan of the direction he’s taking the series .

“I haven’t seen a script, but I have heard about some scripts, and what I’ve heard is fantastic,” Domingo said. “These are characters we know and journey with, and we fight for them as they fight for their own place in the world. They all have breakthroughs in many ways. That’s what I discovered.”

He continued, “I think this is one of the most beautiful lyrics Sam has ever written. It’s just from what I’ve heard too, because I heard it from my friend Sam himself. He says, “Let me tell you about it.” What he told me took my breath away.”

Fans have been waiting for news about the HBO drama for quite some time; it’s been almost three years since the second season premiered. Production on the endlessly delayed third season will begin in January and will make a time jump when the main cast returns to the movies.

Domingo is confident that fans’ patience will be rewarded with a quality return for the series: “I think it will be an incredible season 3 that will be well worth the wait. We will make it happen, I promise you.”

The actor previously opened up Variety about the status of “Euphoria” in a November cover story. “Apparently I’m coming back for Season 3,” he said, adding that he wasn’t sure when production would begin. ‘I have heard it’s January.
