John Amos remembered with emotional memorial service
John Amos gets a grand farewell… in the form of an emotional memorial service… with a strong turnout from Hollywood.
The ‘Good Times’ star was remembered by his family and famous friends at a service in East Orange, NJ on Saturday…with performances from R&B artist Monifahgospel singer Karen Pooleand platinum producer Show “TL” Cross.
John’s former ‘Good Times’ cast mates, BernNaddette Stanis And Ralph Carterwere among the speakers.
Among the celebrities in attendance…Grammy-winning recording artist Lauryn HillThe Roots rapper Rahzel and basketball Hall of Famer Violet Palmer. AJ Calloway hosted.
Jan’s daughter Shannon tells TMZ… “The mayor of East Orange gave my father a proclamation and announced plans to name the East Orange High School football field as well as a street in his honor.”
As we reported… John died in August due to congestive heart failure, but Shannon claims she didn’t know her father died until October, when her brother KC Amos announced this in the media.
Shannon and KC have been at the center of a heated sibling feud for the past year…after Shannon her brother accused of elder abuse while caring for John, an accusation that John and KC both denied at the time.
But on this occasion people came together to remember John.
