RHOSLC’s Bronwyn Newport ‘Mortified’ Bravo aired dog poop in her house
Bronwyn Nieuwpoort is a self-proclaimed dog lover, but she wasn’t a fan of seeing dog poop all over her house The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City.
“I didn’t know until I saw the episode,” Bronwyn, 39, said exclusively We weekly on Monday, November 18, while discussing her house mistake from Season 5 of the Bravo reality TV show.
The newest housewife revealed she was “mortified” when she realized the cameras had captured dog poop in multiple rooms of her home while she was showing Heather Gay around the space during season 5, episode 8.
“My daughter is kind of a dog whisperer in our house, and she came to me when she saw the episode and said, ‘I’m so ashamed. Our house is so clean. How can this be what it looks like?’” Bronwyn recalled. “And I thought, ‘Well, I guess it was that day.'”
During the episode, Heather, 50, did several digs at Bronwyn’s unfinished home and spotted the animal’s remains while she was inside.
“I’ve never been to Heather’s house so I can’t return the compliment or lack thereof,” Bronwyn teased, admitting that Heather’s negative comments were “fair” at the time. “I couldn’t control it anymore, it was busy that day. I had a new puppy. It was snowing and it [was] completely up to me,” she added. ‘If the camera crews had captured the poop in my house, I would have shown it [it] if I were also production.”
The women also butted heads during the episode after Bronwyn tried to get Heather to apologize for being mean to her in the past. When Heather didn’t take responsibility for her alleged actions, Bronwyn chose not to invite her on a group trip to Palm Springs.
“I understand that Heather and I were not friends. We weren’t in a great place. We had a very rough conversation that day,” Bronwyn shared Us of Heather’s misconception about her eclectic interior.
She confessed, “I might have been dark about everything I could have been if I was Heather too, and I gave her a good reason. There was dog poop on my floor. My house was being renovated.”
Bronwyn recalled that during her home visit, Heather saw every blemish in the house. “She didn’t miss a single opportunity to lick,” she said.
Bronwyn and Heather continued to be at odds after the awkward poop situation and Heather’s exclusion from the Palm Springs outing. However, Bronwyn told Us that there is more to their story that fans will see play out for the rest of the season.
“I think Heather is very witty. I would like to be friends with Heather. I’m also happy to remain enemies because I like to argue with Heather,” Bronwyn revealed, noting that she Whitney Rose saying that “Heather met her match” with her as a “compliment”.
Bronwyn described Heather as “really quick” and “really smart,” which she said makes its dynamics interesting. “She is a formidable opponent, so I appreciate that the other ladies see me as a formidable opponent as well,” she added.
Looking ahead, Bronwyn teased, “Heather and I are figuring it out.” She shared that in the near future RHOSLC episodes: “You will see that a solution will be found. We have some ups and downs.”
The fashionista added, “I think Heather and I are very similar, and if we get on a good page, I think we’ll stay on a good page. And I think we’re close to that. So I have high hopes.”
Bronwyn is also hopeful that Bravo will give her a second chance to show off her home — sans dog poop and, instead, full of unique decorations.
“I would really like Bravo to get me back for another season because I feel like people need to see that I don’t live in this mausoleum of emptiness,” she joked. “My house is finally almost completely finished.”
Bronwyn said she and husband Todd Bradley now have furniture and art on the walls. “There’s no more ‘Hello, hello, hello’ in this empty house,” she said, her voice echoing.
The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City airs on Bravo Wednesdays at 9pm ET.
