Colin Farrell switches from ‘Penguin’ growl to Irish accent on set, Vid shocks fans
HBO
Colin FarrellThe Penguin’s ‘The Penguin’ transformation was so epic and convincing that a clip of him speaking in his Irish accent while fully in character has left viewers speechless.
Hear for yourself… the actor gave a speech after wrapping filming in a clip (now deleted by HBO) for the off-camera crew, but his smooth Irish accent totally clashes with the mean, Gotham-dwelling look he gives was rocking for show, and the New York growl he uses in character.
The change in accent was so intense that it almost overshadowed Colin’s heartfelt message… “I loved every minute of it, even when I didn’t love it. And I just feel so grateful, humbled and blessed to be a part of this collective.” .”
It’s especially hilarious when Colin then snaps that he won’t “miss the suit” or “the damn voice” – then seamlessly returns to his Irish accent as if nothing had happened.
But fans couldn’t get enough in the comments, with some hilariously claiming that hearing Colin bounce between his Penguin growl and soft Irish melody while in full uniform felt “illegal” and “wrong ‘ felt.
But fans can all agree on one thing: Colin’s performance is Emmy-worthy! The series just wrapped its finale and it’s already getting a lot of praise for bringing the Penguin to life.
