Gisele Bündchen quits modeling to focus on third pregnancy

The update comes as Bündchen — who started dating Valente seven months after finalizing her divorce from retired NFL star Tom Brady — is reportedly “defying doctor’s orders” with plans for a home delivery.
The model was reportedly booking new gigs until early October – just weeks before her pregnancy announcement was revealed.

The supermodel is currently expecting her third child, first with new boyfriend Joaquim Valente.

While it’s unclear when she will resume her modeling career, an insider said she plans to make a full comeback to editorial work once she’s settled back down.
The source claimed that Bündchen was asked to participate in the 2024 Victoria’s Secret Runway Show in October, but turned down the offer – either due to her pregnancy or her dislike of the brand’s lingerie looks.

Gisele previously said she was no longer interested in walking the shows because the outfits were uncomfortable and too revealing.
In a 2022 video for British Vogue, she said: “I always made sure my back was covered because I just felt uncomfortable walking with my butt on the catwalk because I was looking from the bottom up.
“I thought, ‘That’s not going to happen.’ But I always had fun at the shows. It always seemed like a production, there was always someone singing, there was always something happening. It was a fun experience.

As for Bündchen’s personal life, the star is already making confinement plans for her upcoming birth. She is said to be looking to give birth to her third child via a risky home birth at her $11 million Miami mansion.
It wouldn’t be the first time Bündchen ignored doctors’ warnings, as she gave birth at home to son Benjamin, 14, and daughter Vivian, 11 – whom she shares with Brady.

The model’s ex, Brady, was reportedly ‘stunned’ after discovering Bündchen was pregnant with Valente’s baby.

She revealed in her 2018 book: My path to a meaningful life, that she was advised to have a caesarean section when she was only four months pregnant with Benjamin.
She wrote: “The doctor told me it was too dangerous for me to have a home birth. He said Benny was in an unusual position, my hips were too small and the odds were just not in my favor.”

Despite the doctor’s recommendation, Bündchen went ahead with her own birth plan because she “always dreamed of having a natural birth at home.”
Although Brady didn’t agree with the idea, she became interested in water births and eventually gave birth to their son in a hot tub.
When it came time to give birth to her second child, Bündchen again chose to give birth at home in a bathtub, recalling both experiences as “extraordinary”.

Sources said the former NFL star and the two children he shares with Bündchen were the first to be informed of her pregnancy news.

As for the former NFL star, Brady reportedly never thought his ex-wife would be expecting another baby so soon with her jiu-jitsu instructor-turned-boyfriend.
An insider said: “Tom knew things were serious between Gisele and Joaquin, but he never thought they would have a child together. It just wasn’t something that was on his radar. So when Gisele told him the news, he was stunned, to say the least.”

The source also said that Brady has “got used to the idea and is happy for Gisele” now that the “initial shock has worn off.”
Shortly after the news broke, it was revealed that Bündchen’s pregnancy was unexpected – and Brady and their children were the first to be informed of the shocking update.

Another insider said: “Gisele and Joaquim had no intention of having a child together. This was unexpected. Joaquim has always wanted a family, so she is happy to give this to him.
“She knew he would be a great dad when her children started taking classes with him. He is patient, playful and so understanding.”

The supermodel started dating the Brazilian jiu-jitsu instructor in June 2023, just months after she was declared legally single.
However, she and Valentine were spotted on holiday just two weeks after her divorce was finalized – leading speculators to believe she was unfaithful during her marriage to Brady.

She shut down the rumors, saying, “This is the first time I’m seeing someone who was a friend of mine for the first time. It’s very different. It’s very honest and very transparent.”
