Ted Danson apologizes to Kelsey Grammer for feuding during ‘Cheers’ years

Ted Danson recently apologized to Kelsey Grammer for a decades-old feud they had while working together on “Cheers.”

On the October 23 episode of the Podcast ‘Where everyone knows your name’co-hosted by Danson and Woody Harrelson, Grammer and Danson reminisced about their time together on the hit NBC sitcom and discussed what their relationship was like off-camera.

“I feel like I was kind of stuck with you during the ‘Cheers’ years,” Danson told Grammer. “I remember getting mad at you once.”

“Yes, you came to tell me that one day,” Grammer interjected. The former ‘Cheers’ co-stars did not reveal any details about the dispute.

“It’s stuck in both of our memories. But I feel like I’ve missed the last thirty years of Kelsey Grammer and I feel like it’s my fault, my fault,” Danson admitted, “and I almost feel like apologizing.”

He continued: ‘No, I don’t feel like – I apologize to you and me for sitting back, you know, and not doing that. And I truly apologize.”

Grammer thanked Danson for the apology and said he too wished they had “spent a little more time together.”

“My love for you has always been as simple as day,” Grammer said. “As simple as the sunrise.”

Danson played Sam Malone during the sitcom’s eleven seasons from 1982 to 1993, while Grammer appeared as Dr. Dr. from 1984 to 1993. Frasier Crane. The cast of “Cheers” also included Harrelson, Rhea Pearlman, Shelley Long and John Ratzenberger.

After “Cheers” ended, Grammer reprized his role in the spinoff series “Frasier,” which ran from 1993 to 2004, and the revival series of the same name on Paramount+. The second season of the “Frasier” revival was released in September.
