Missing Madeleine McCann ‘presumed dead’, ex-met detective claims

Sunday, May 3, marks 19 years since the then three-year-old was last seen. The tiny toddler disappeared from a resort in Portugal after she and her siblings, two-year-old twins, slept in an apartment while her parents, Kate and Gerry McCann, went to eat at a nearby restaurant.

Although the case is still open, Marcel said that if she were alive, she would likely have been seen in a photo shared on social media.

“These days you can’t help but be captured in images,” Neville told the newspaper Daily espresso podcast. “So if you and I went for a beer and we take a selfie, we’ll see the people in the background, right?”

The detective said finding Madeleine should have been easy, especially considering the toddler had a “distinct” spot in her eye and was wearing recognizable pajamas when she went missing.
