Samuel L. Jackson talks about ‘crazy’ antics in a 44-year marriage

Samuel L Jackson opened up about the “crazy” antics he committed in his marriage to wife LaTanya Richardson Jackson.
RadarOnline.com can reveal that the actor didn’t hold back when he shared the challenges he and his longtime wife have overcome in their 44-year marriage.
When asked about his secret to a long-lasting partnership, he said: “A lot of tolerance, because everyone has flaws, and not giving up when it would be easy to give up.”

Jackson, 75, discussed the ups and downs his marriage has overcome in his cover story of the October/November 2024 issue of AARP The Magazine.
The Pulp Fiction star confessed: “I’ve done things in my marriage that are crazy, you know?
“She has that in her head, or whatever, in reality, but you have to say, ‘Is that a breakup violation?’ Or is it just that we need to spend some time together and gain some understanding?”

After 44 years of marriageJackson joked that another option for surviving decades together was to simply look the other way when it comes to a partner’s annoying qualities.
He added: “Or there are certain things you learn to ignore about people – that she learned to ignore about me.”
In 2022, Jackson revealed that he and his wife made a pact when they first got married to “stay together no matter what,” which ultimately included the actor’s battle with substance abuse.

LaTanya said, “In the beginning, we always said that the most revolutionary thing black people could do was stick together and raise their children with the core of having a father and a mother, since everyone likes to pretend that that’s not the dynamic belongs to society. African American family.
‘That these are only children being raised by women, which we know is not true.
“To change that narrative, we decided to say, ‘We’ll stick together no matter what. We’ll figure it out.’

The duo first met in college and recently celebrated their 44th anniversary in April.
Early in their marriage, Jackson battled drug addiction.
He revealed: “My wife and daughter found me lying on the floor. My best friend from high school was a drug counselor and my wife called him, and the next day I was in rehab.
“I didn’t kick and scream because I was tired.”
