JD Vance accused of ‘lying’ about the cost of eggs during a trip to the supermarket

J.D. Vance is probably busy arranging his latest awkward excursion… the politician is facing backlash over his claims about the cost of eggs under the Biden administration.
Check it out… the vice president hopeful stops by a grocery store in Reading, Pennsylvania, where he complains to locals about the rise in egg prices in recent years.
As Vance puts it…current vice president and Democratic candidate Kamala Harris is responsible for the increase in grocery costs…and claims eggs now cost $4 a dozen thanks to VP.
However, as the images circulated online, eagle-eyed fans were quick to point out a number of errors in Vance’s claims — starting with the fact that a carton of eggs actually costs $2.99 per dozen.
If you look behind Vance’s left shoulder, you’ll see two different signs…both of which indicate that eggs cost less than $3 for a dozen eggs at this particular store. This led several people online to believe that Vance was “lying” about prices to incite people.
For the record, the average cost of eggs was almost $5 in Pennsylvania in 2023 SoFi …so Vance wasn’t entirely wrong.
The senator also held a box of 20 in his hand during his speech… with some wondering if the Ohio senator couldn’t tell the difference.
Cost aside, many took issue with Vance’s claim that his kids eat 14 eggs “every morning”… as that’s significantly more than the recommended 3 to 4 eggs per week.
This is not the first public appearance that has backfired Donald Trump‘s running mate. In August, a simple trip to a donut shop in Georgia become disastrous after Vance had an awkward meet-and-greet with an employee.
Vance was criticized by critics for the strange way he introduced himself to the employee and for being unusually vague when ordering some donuts. The senator later defended that the strange interaction was due to the employee’s tense response. He later noted that the woman had asked not to be filmed halfway through the conversation.
It appears the Trump campaign may want to cut back on Vance’s public appearances, especially if they remain so viral.
