‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ crowns the winner of season 18

SPOILER ALERT: This contains major spoilers for the finale of “RuPaul’s Drag Race.”

Hello everyone Myki Meeks!

The queen has been crowned America’s next drag superstar by “RuPaul’s Drag Race.” Meeks took the crown from Darlene Mitchell and Nini Coco.

Meeks took the crown from her fellow queens and said, “This is for my friends, my family, all of Orlando, live fiercely, love bravely and write it in the books baby, the Meeks will inherit the crown!”

The episode saw judge Michelle Visage welcome the Season 18 queens back to the main stage. DD Fuego, Mandy Mango, Briar Blush, Ciara Myst, Vita VonTesse Star, Mia Starr, Athena Dion, Kenya Pleaser, Discord Addams, Jane Don’t and Juicy Love Dion all made one final appearance as the season’s eliminated queens.

Finalists Darlene Mitchell, Myki Meeks and Nini Coco were welcomed back for one final Ru-stravaganza. Mitchell finished in second place.

Jane Don’t was crowned Miss Congeniality this season. When asked what she had to say, she didn’t answer: “Happiness is not something the women in my family generally strive for, but one of the best gifts this whole experience has given me is my relationships with these girls.” She went on to say, “You are the best prize.”

Host RuPaul also treated the crowd to a performance of her 2022 song, “Mother of the House,” reminding everyone who was in charge.

Meeks ended up at the bottom of the Rate-a-queen challenge, but recovered to go on to win the Political Advertising Challenge, the Makeover Challenge, the Improv Challenge, and the Final Hosting Challenge. Meeks earned the title of comeback queen and entered the “Drag Race” history books by winning three of these four challenges in a row.

During the season’s Snatch Game Challenge, Meeks did a top-notch Drew Barrymore impersonation. After that episode, Barrymore invited Meeks to appear on her show. In true Meeks style, she showed up dressed as Barrymore. “There’s such accuracy,” Barrymore told Meeks.

Meeks is now “America’s Next Drag Superstar” and joins previous winners in the Drag Race Hall of Fame. She also took home a cash prize of $200,000.

Miley Cyrus received the Lifetime Award. Accepting the award, Cyrus joked, “It makes the Grammys look cheap.”
