Meghan and Harry’s body language was called ‘disgusting’ during the Oz tour

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been branded ‘disgusting’ by critics for their body language during their tour of Australia. The accusations are piling up.

If RadarOnline.com has reported that Harry, 41, and Markle, 44, are currently on a four-day visit across Australia, including stops in Melbourne, Canberra and Sydney, focusing on mental health, veterans and community outreach.

The trip marks their first return to the country since their official royal visit in 2018, although they are no longer working members of the royal family. Their reception was mixed, with some Australians welcoming them warmly, while others questioned their relevance and motives, as well as the cost to the country of heavy police security around them.

A source familiar with the reactions said: “There is a growing view among critics that what they are presenting feels more staged than genuine. The body language is being dismissed as overly theatrical, with some even calling it inappropriate or even disgusting to watch.”

The insider added: “The term ‘fake royal tour’ is being used because people feel it mimics official duties without the same responsibility.”

Others are furious that Harry has been estranged from his father and the rest of the family for years, while Markle infamously froze her ailing father out of her life.”

“People think it’s mean that they come by laughing to promote their ‘brand’ when there’s so much going on. It just seems lame, fake and a bit shitty.”

During a visit to the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne, the couple were photographed greeting patients, crouching to talk to children and posing for photos with families.

Australian body language expert Dr. Louise Mahler also said, “The Law of the Domestic Goddess is not enough for me.”

She also sneered: “Megan grabs Harry’s upper arm and hangs there like a small, helpless waif, shyly reaching out with half an arm to greet others, like a withdrawn introvert overwhelmed by adoration.”

Mahler continued, “Together they both crouch down in front of small children, hugging and showing warmth before sitting in the garden together picking and smelling plants in a natural healing ceremony.”

Despite the criticism, the visit was positively received by hospital staff. Dr. Peter Steer, director of the hospital, said: “It was a truly meaningful visit for our staff and for the young people receiving care.”

However, Mahler said the apparent warmth masked what she saw as a deeper inconsistency. She said: “I don’t want to diminish the joy this can bring to the deserving participants, but there is something terribly and shockingly incongruent here. The physical appearance we see bears no scar of the family conflict, staff distress and financial and business turmoil that we know exists.”

She continued: “Even the strikingly ubiquitous effect of jet lag is no longer present after a 16-hour flight back in time. There’s none of that to be seen, and somehow that makes it alarmingly surreal, divisive and, to me, disgusting.”

Further criticism comes from American body language expert Dr. Lillian Glass, who analyzed Markle’s solo visit to a women’s shelter in Melbourne.

Glass said, “Meghan’s body language is the most revealing.”

She added: “She has a fake smile when she feeds the homeless. She seems thrilled to be back in the public eye, with a crowd of people watching her, even though almost all of them were children who had no idea who she was or why she was there.

“Her perpetually open mouth, inappropriate laughter and exaggerated smile are both unnerving and disturbing.”

The expert continued: “It’s been a while and their only audience is the homeless who don’t care about Meghan or Harry but rather their daily survival, and very sick children who are better off left in their hospital beds rather than being used as pawns in the picture and subjected to the falsehood of these two who actually care about them.

“They would never get this attention in California or anywhere else in the US because they are so hated and seen as fraudsters and disaster tourists who metastasize into situations they have nothing to do with, like the Malibu fire in LA, the school shootings in Texas, and so on.”

A royal source said the polarized reaction to the couple’s visit to Oz highlights the challenge the couple face in redefining their public roles.

“They walk the fine line between celebrity and service,” the palace aide added. “For some the gestures resonate, but for others they feel exaggerated and fake, and that’s where the criticism comes from.”
