Where is Diddy now? Inside the ‘violent’ Metropolitan Detention Center

After Sean “Diddy” Combs was arrested in New York City earlier this week, the music mogul is being held in pre-trial detention at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn.

Diddy, 54, is being placed in federal custody after a judge denied him bail amid his arraignment on charges of sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy and transportation to engage in prostitution. CNN which was published on Tuesday, September 17.

The newspaper added that Diddy will remain in this unit, which is “segregated from the general prison population and used to protect inmates who require additional protection,” until his next court appearance, which is scheduled for Wednesday, September 18 .

The Daily beast also reported that the Metropolitan Detention Center “has been plagued by chronic understaffing, ongoing lockdowns, outbreaks of violence, delayed access to medical care, and a surge in suicides and deaths.”

Diddy, who has pleaded not guilty to each of the charges, will be one of about 1,600 inmates held at the jail, according to police. Daily beast.

The newspaper reported that an inmate named Eli told them at the time: “So right now we are experiencing a lockdown where we essentially leave our cells every three days for a 15-minute shower. You are literally in solitary confinement when you shouldn’t be.”

He continued: “It’s very violent. There are stabbings, there are stabbings at least a few times a week.”

Diddy’s lawyers, Marc Agnifilo And Teny R. Geragoscited the incident within their bail proposal obtained by Termadding that “at least four inmates there have died by suicide in the last three years.”

His attorneys also noted that the facility has been described in the past as “terrible … and noted that the problems with food contamination and dangerous physical conditions were an “ongoing tragedy.”

Diddy was taken into custody on Monday, September 16, and a grand jury indicted him amid his multiple sexual assault lawsuits and a federal investigation. He was charged one day after his arrest.

A fourteen-page indictment, unsealed on Tuesday, contained a barrage of accusations against the rapper. Diddy “abused, threatened and coerced women and others around him,” the complaint said. Some of the alleged incidents, which the indictment alleges were carried out to “fulfill his sexual desires, protect his reputation and conceal his behavior,” date back to 2009.
