Andrew Windsor was trapped in ‘Love Triangle’ with Epstein and Maxwell

It is believed that Windsor’s friendship with Maxwell goes back many years before she introduced him to Epstein.

Maxwell, the daughter of the late media mogul Robert Maxwell, had social connections in British and American elite circles before becoming closely associated with Epstein.

According to accounts from royal biographers, Maxwell was the person who first brought Windsor and Epstein together. The trio were later photographed together at a number of events and social gatherings.

A royal commentator said: ‘Andrew appears to have made a huge error in judgment when it came to his friendship with Epstein and Ghislaine. But this is because he was in a bizarre, transactional love triangle with them.

“Many claim it ranges from friendship to sex and the exchange of secrets. But make no mistake, this trio was very, very close and intimate with each other for years.”

Windsor has consistently denied any wrongdoing related to Epstein’s activities.

Controversy surrounding the relationship increased after Virginia Giuffre said she was trafficked by Epstein and forced to have contact with Windsor at the age of 17. The former royal family has always denied the allegation.

During his much criticized 2019 interview with BBC journalist Emily Maitlis, Windsor explained that he met Epstein through Maxwell.

A royal analyst said: ‘If you trace the origins of the relationship, the one constant that comes up repeatedly is Ghislaine Maxwell.

“She appears to have been the central link that brought Andrew and Jeffrey Epstein into the same social orbit. Without that introduction, it is entirely possible that their paths never crossed in any meaningful way.”

The source added that Maxwell’s position within elite social circles allowed her to connect powerful figures who might otherwise have remained separated.

They said: ‘Maxwell moved comfortably among influential people in both Britain and the United States. She was well known in high society and had access to a range of political, financial and aristocratic networks. That put her in a unique position to introduce individuals who could benefit from knowing each other.”

According to the analyst, the structure of those social networks meant that once the initial introduction took place, the connection could quickly deepen.

They added: “Once Maxwell introduced Andrew to Epstein, the relationship appears to have developed through the same kinds of elite gatherings, private events and social invitations that define these circles. In that environment, repeated meetings and shared acquaintances can strengthen ties very quickly.”

The analyst added that the central role Maxwell played in connecting the two men has remained one of the key elements of the controversy, saying: “Looking back on the timeline, Maxwell’s role as a go-between is impossible to ignore.

“She was the person who effectively bridged two very different worlds – the British royal establishment and Epstein’s network of wealthy international contacts. That introduction ultimately set in motion a chain of events that would have lasting consequences for Andrew’s public life.”
