The Harry Potter series takes viewers to Draco Malfoy’s manor

Producers of the upcoming Harry Potter series on HBO Max have long promised that the show, which will span seven series, will give fans a more in-depth look at the wizarding world than the films.
According to Lox Pratt, who has been cast as Potter’s nemesis Draco Malfoy, one way the series will do that is by following some of the more peripheral characters in their individual spaces. “You get to see all the teachers in their little rooms. You get to see Draco at home. I won’t say too much about that, but there are some brilliant scenes at home where you start to get an insight into what he’s like,” says Pratt, who is currently starring in the BBC adaptation of “Lord of the Flies.”
The HBO series, set to launch in 2027, will be directed by “Succession” director Mark Mylod and written by “His Dark Materials” writer Francesca Gardiner.
“I think with this adaptation you get to see so much more than just the books,” said Pratt magazine 1883. “[The books] are very much over Harry’s shoulder, which is great, and that’s how they played the movie. And I think Francesca and Mark heard this well in their interviews, there is so much more to see.”
Pratt also suggested that, in addition to a look inside the walls of Malfoy Manor, viewers would also see a more rounded version of Draco. “As with ‘Flies,’ I was grateful that we had the same freedom to explore these characters,” said Pratt. “Because in the movies, Draco is kind of 2D; he’s the sneering villain. I feel like there’s so much more – you have to understand why. And you see little glimpses of it in the movie with Lucius and stuff. I think that [the series] is really brilliant. I can’t wait to bring it to the screen.”
HBO Max executives are also keen to bring the series to screens, with Warner Bros. streaming boss JB Perrette. Discovery is already calling it the “streaming event of the decade.”
