Hallmark Plus sets September launch date and premieres on streaming app
Hallmark+ is launching just in time for the series’ fall TV debuts.
On September 10, the on-demand streaming app, currently called Hallmark Movies Now, will get a new name. The original series “The Chicken Sisters,” based on the New York Times bestseller by KJ Dell’Antonia, will debut at launch. New episodes of the drama, starring Schuyler Fisk, Genevieve Angelson, Lea Thompson and Wendie Malick, will be released every Thursday starting September 12.
The unscripted series “Celebrations with Lacey Chabert” will also be available at launch, with the Hallmark chapter hosting. The ambitious 10-episode series follows as Chabert surprises deserving heroes with the party of a lifetime. New episodes appear every Thursday.
Hallmark+ will debut the “Love on the Danube” trilogy on September 10 with the first film, “Love on the Danube: Love Song,” starring Nazneen Contractor and Wes Brown. “Love on the Danube: Royal Getaway,” starring Jessica Sipos and Dan Jeannotte, will be released on September 19, followed by “Love on the Danube: Kissing Stars,” starring Sarah Power and Brendan Penny, on September 26.
Additional premieres will take place on the app throughout the month, including three new ones
episodes of the popular franchise “The Jane Mysteries” starring Jodie Sweetin and
Stephen Huszar, dropping September 10, September 19 and September 26.
On Wednesday, Hallmark Media also announced the “Hallmark VIP Movie Pass,” hosted by Tamera Mowry-Housley, featuring stars of popular Hallmark films as they share personal anecdotes, memories and behind-the-scenes stories. Featured films include ‘Blind Date Book Club’, ‘Branching Out’, ‘The Wedding Veil’, ‘Curious Caterer: Fatal Vows’, ‘The Professional Bridesmaid’, ‘Girlfriendship’, ‘Notes of Autumn,” “Haul Out the Holly,” “My Christmas Family Tree,” and “The Gift of Peace.”
Hallmark+ combines both original shows and movies with monthly discounts and rewards for shopping at Hallmark stores and on Hallmark.com.
