‘Extraction’ Netflix TV Series Adds 11 to Cast

Netflix has completed the cast of the upcoming series “.” Variety has learned.

The streamer has added 11 new cast members to the series, which was first announced in February starring Omar Sy. The new cast members are:

Sacha Dhawan (‘The Great’, ‘Dr. Who’), Ross McCall (“Silo”, “Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning”), Pip Torrens (“The Crown, Succession”), Sam Woolf (‘We Were the Lucky Ones’, ‘Neuromancer’), Michael Zananiri (“Once upon a time in Gaza”, “An orange from Jaffa”), Riyadh Sliman (“Ramy,” “Palestine 36”), Muhannad Ben Amor (‘Andor’, ‘Believe me’), Aaron Heffernan (“Brass”, “Femme”), Jojo Macari (‘Those About to Die’, ‘Sex Education’), Theo Ogundipe (“Mickey 17”, “Top Boy”) and Emma Appleton (‘Everything I Know About Love’, ‘The Witcher’).

Together with Sy, the new additions join a cast that already includes Boyd Holbrook, Natalie Dormer, Waleed Zuaiter and Ed Speleers. Netflix has ordered an eight-episode first season.

The official logline for the series reads: “In this action-packed thriller, a mercenary soldier (Sy) embarks on a dangerous mission to rescue hostages in Libya. Caught between warring factions and ruthless killers, he must make choices between life and death while facing deep emotional wounds. The series explores characters’ trauma, betrayal, and moral conflicts. who are pushed to their limits.”

Glen Mazzara is a writer, executive producer and showrunner of the series ‘Extraction’. Anthony Russo, Joe Russo, Angela Russo-Otstot, Scott Nemes and Chris Castaldi are executive producers for AGBO, while Sam Hargrave, Eric Gitter and Peter Schwerin are also executive producers.

The first ‘Extraction’ film, starring Chris Hemsworth, was released on Netflix in 2020. Hemsworth returned for the sequel in 2023. The films were based on the graphic novel ‘Ciudad’ by Ande Parks. Joe Russo wrote the screenplay for both films and co-produced with Anthony, Gitter and Schwerin. Hargrave directed both films, while AGBO produced.
