NBCU, Google Ink Long-Term Deal for YouTube TV, including NBCSN

NBCUIversal and Google have reached a Mulityar distribution agreement to keep NBC and NBCU’s series of other networks on YouTube TV.

In addition to the current NBCU -LEI, the streaming service under YouTube TV deal will wear the newly launched NBC Sports Network (NBCSN). NBCU said that the new NBCSN, to launch later this fall, “will supplement the prominent detailed characteristics all year round to the NBC broadcast network.” The company had previously closed NBCSN in 2021.

The deal announcement came on Thursday after the previous agreement of the companies had risen on 30 September; The parties reached a short -term extension to hammer the final details. YouTube TV is the largest internet-PAY TV service in the US, with an estimated 9.5 million customers from the end of 2024, according to research agency Moffettnathanson.

The agreement continues the transport of YouTube TV from NBCUIVERSAL’s full portfolio of networks, including NBC, Bravo, CNBC, Golf Channel, E!, Oxygen True Crime, MSNBC, US, SYFY, Telemundo and Universo. The cable networks of the company (excluding Bravo) will be part of the Versant Spin-Off, a transaction that is expected to close at the end of 2025.

In addition, the NBCU-Google-deal evokes that Peacock will be available in the coming months as a subscription via YouTube Primetime channels, the subscription offer of the platform (which is independent of YouTube TV). The companies also went on a multi -year expansion of Peacock’s availability on the Android platforms from Google, including Google Play and Google TV.

Before the companies achieved the deal extension, Google had claimed that NBCU ‘asked us to pay more than what they charge consumers for the same content on Peacock’, which starts at $ 10.99/month for the low -supported layer.

YouTube TV separately dropped Univision and other networks from Televisaunivisie on Tuesday evening, after Google and the Spanish media giant could not reach for the conditions of a transport renewal. Their earlier agreement also went on September 30.
