OpenAI acquires product testing startup Statsig and shakes up its leadership team
OpenAi announced in a Blog post On Tuesday that it agreed to acquire the startup of the product testing Statusand get his founder and CEO, Vijaye Raji, as CTO of requests from the company.
OpenAI pays $ 1.1 billion for statsig in an all-stock deal-one of the largest acquisitions ever for the Chatgpt-Maker-under the current appreciation of $ 300 billion of the company, Openai spokesperson Kayla Wood told WAN.

While Raji comes on board, OpenAi makes changes to his leadership team.
The main product officer of the company, Kevin Weil, will be VP of a new group called OpenAi for Science, he announced in one after On LinkedIn. Weil says that the aim of its new organization “is to build the next major scientific instrument: an AI-drive platform that speeds up the scientific discovery.” Weil says that he will work closely with Sebastien Bubeck, an OpenAI researcher and the former VP of AI and Distinguished scientist at Microsoft.
“I can do this because the product and design leaders at OpenAI are great and are now being supplemented with Fidji Simo who starts her role as CEO of applications,” Weil said. “The products of OpenAI have been my life since I became a member, and they are in good hands.”
In the meantime, the current head of the Engineering of OpenAi, Srinivas Narayanan, announced in one after On LinkedIn he would switch to a new role as CTO of B2B applications of the company. In the role, Narayan says that he will collaborate directly with OpenAi’s COO, Brad Lightcap, who supervises many of the relationships of the company with company customers.
OpenAi says that the statsig acquisition is awaiting the evaluation of the regulations. Once completed, the company says that all Statig employees become open -to -employees. However, the startup of the product tests will “continue to work independently and serve his customer base from his office in Seattle,” the company said in their blog post.
