Idaho Max Prison -Vows to ‘protect’ Bryan Kherberger
We contacted the prison for comment on Kherberger’s current situation, but the facility seemed to be more concerned that his information spread.
“… IDOC (Idaho Department of Correction) tries to clarify that extra control will be applied to future requests for public registers about a person in Idoc infection,” they told us in a statement. “The media and the public can expect that comparable public archives that have been submitted in the future can be completely refused or can produce records that will be edited in accordance with the IDAHO Public Records to protect the safety and safety of the prison population, staff and our activities.”
They continued: “We always try to meet all applicable laws, since it relates to public archives. We will continue to balance the confidentiality, public safety, security and habilitation with the importance of the public in disclosure.”
With regard to the killer’s complaints, the prison replied: “We also take reports of threats and intimidation seriously. Every issue is thoroughly investigated and if applicable we take disciplinary measures in accordance with our policy and the law.
“If justified, incidents can be referred to law enforcement and the office of the public prosecutor.”
On July 30, Kherberger reportedly sent a note to deputy Warden Dietz and asked for a transfer from J-Block to B-Block “Immediately”, after he accused prisoners of non-stop “minute to minute verbal threats/intimidation.”
“Not being busy with one of the recent floods/striking and subject to minute to minute verbal threats/intimidation and on those and other bases [sic] Unity 2 of J-Block is an environment that I want to switch from, “wrote Kherberger in his note.
A prison officer who responded to the plea of the convicted murderer described floods in J-Blok as a “relatively rare event” and advised Kherberger to “give it some time”, because J-Block “is generally a fairly calm and quieter layer”.
Flooding is when prisoners deliberately flood their cells by filling toilets or sinks and flushing them continuously, usually done as a form of disruption.
Days later, Kherberger then claimed that he was sexually harassed and accused a prisoner of telling him: “I will b —- F– you.” He then accused another prisoner of making the threatening threat: “The only A- We will eat is Kherberger’s.”
In response, prison officials claimed: “Kherberger feels safe to stay in J-Block on Tier 2.”
Kherberger was thrown behind the bars for life for killing Kaylee Goncalves, Madison Mag, Ethan Chapin and Xanda Kernodl. He pleaded guilty and avoided the death penalty, a decision that raged the families of his victims.
“It’s true! We are more than furious in the state of Idaho,” reads a statement from the Goncalves family on Facebook. “They have abandoned us. Please give us some time. This was very unexpected. We appreciate all your love and support.”
The sister of Goncalves, Alivea, however, did not leave Kherberger to the court of the hook, because she told him exactly how she felt and called him “delusion, pathetic, hypochondrian loser who thought you were so much smarter than everyone else. All that effort just seemed important.”
