OpenAI reportedly ‘recalibrating’ compensation in response to Meta hires

With Meta successfully poaching a number of his senior researchers, an OpenAI director reportedly reassured the team members on Saturday that business leadership has not been “unemployed”.

“I now feel a visceral feeling, as if someone broke into our house and stole something,” wrote Chief Research Officer Mark Chen in A weak memo obtained by Wired.

In response to what a Meta recruitment spree seems to be, Chen said that he, CEO Sam Altman and other OpenAi leaders “worked around the clock to talk to those with offers”, and they have been “more proactive than ever before, we have been calibrated again, and we are creative ways to recognize and reward creative ways.”

In the past week, various press releases have noticed that eight researchers who left OpenAi for meta. Altman even complained to a podcast that Meta offered ‘$ 100 million signing bonuses’, a description with which Meta -executives have reduced internally.
