The sober life of Cary Grant after the scandal of ‘Male Lover’ broke

After having spent decades as one of the largest film stars in the world, Cary Grant lived a quiet life in retirement.

RadarOnline.com, however, has learned that the Oscar -nominated person kept many secrets in the world, including his appeal to other men.

Grant, who died of a stroke in 1986 at the age of 82, left the spotlight to spend more time with his daughter Jennifer, who was born when he was 62.

“I live fairly quietly,” he said in an interview from 1987. “But what do you expect from a man my age?”

Now, a good friend of the North-by-Northwest Star has released a new book that never had to digest stories about the later years of the actor.

Bill Royce, author of Cary Grant: The Wizard of Beverly Grove, shared the Ster Loved Magic and Card Games and had a youth feeling for humor.

“He created a game called Doubtful Duos,” Royce remembered, in which he explained the goal of the game, was to match unlikely famous couples with the same last name – such as Betty White and Barry White. “It was childish fun, and that is what he absolutely loved.

“It was a constant attempt to keep things light because there were shadows.”

Among them were questions about Grant’s sexuality. Royce said he is often asked about the sexual preference of his friend, of which Grant told him he was fluent.

“He compared it with acting,” Royce explained. “Why would you only want to play one role all your life? Why not explore all the roles that are there?”

Grant was married – several times with different female lovers. But Royce finally confirmed that Grant also had relationships with other men.

“The biggest rumors went over Randolph Scott,” he said, referring to Grant’s old roommate before he was a star. “Cary became what he called with him ‘strewn’ (but) Scott was not gay.”

They met while making Hot Saturday In 1932. The two men could not have been different, where Scott came from a rich family in North Carolina, where he went to private schools, who participated in swimming and horse riding.

“Cary didn’t want to lose a friend, so he stopped (chased him). They stayed friends for the rest of their lives and went together to Dodgers baseball matches.”

The star was married a total of five times. However, he welcomed only one child, a daughter named Jennifer, with his fourth wife, Dyan Cannon.

He also made the knot with Virginia Cherrill, Barbara Hutton, Betsy Drake and Barbara Harris.

Grant’s widow, Harris shared: “I think the birth of Jennifer brought him great love, and I think the relationship we had brought him peace.”

She added: “Most people who really knew him noticed that he was a much happier person in the last part of his life.”

Just like her famous father, Jennifer grew up as an actor who is best known for performances in shows such as Beverly Hills, 90210 And Movie stars.
