Apple brings Apple Intelligence to the iPhone screen

Apple said that the visual intelligence, its AI-driven image analysis technology, brings to the iPhone screen in iOS 26.

Visual Intelligence will now make it easier and faster to do more with the content on your iPhone, says Apple, and it works automatically with every app. For example, if you open a social media app and see a gray jacket, you can use Visual Intelligence – which is accessible by pressing the same button that you use to make a screenshot – to search for an image for the jacket in Google search assignment and other apps that you often use.

Visual intelligence on the iPhone screen offers other shortcut options, such as quickly adding an event to your agenda, based on context. It can extract the date, time and location in advance in a calendar entry. There is also an option to upload a screenshot to chatgpt for analysis and additional information.

Apple’s head software engineering, Craig Federerghi, said that developers can integrate Apple Intelligence into their apps.

“For developers you can use App intentions to integrate search options of your apps in this experience,” Federitehi said on stage on WWDC 2025. “We also make it possible to visually search over your most used apps using visual intelligence with the iPone camera.”
