Ariel Winter opens the disadvantages of fame during her time in the iconic ABC -Sitcom ‘Modern Family’.

In a conversation with PeopleWinter said that while playing Alex Dunphy on 11 seasons of the 22-way Emmy winner, the media brutally criticized her physical appearance. In the early seasons of the show, the winter was only 14 years old, which made the negative attention all the more difficult to deal with.

“It was every head I read about myself, like adult people written articles about me and said how I looked terrible or pregnant or as a big slut. I mean, I was 14,” said Winter. “It has completely damaged my self -respect.”

“What I also went through, I was a target,” she added. “It made it very difficult to look at myself in the mirror and go:” I love this version of me. “

After “Modern Family” came to an end in 2020, Winter said that she and her friend La left, but claims that she “did not leave the industry.” Outside acting, Winter works with the interest group SOSA (safe for online sexual abuse), which helps young people protect against predators online.

“Technically speaking, yes, I am a survivor. I have experienced some shit,” said Winter. “But many people have experienced something shit. When I call a survivor, it takes away from what I am for, naming others and a spotlight shine on those who need it.”
