After Trump’s remark on Hegseeth, press secretary Karoline Leavitt was put on site by a reporter who asked: “Does (Trump) think that Hegseeth is not having it together now?”
Leavitt replied: “The president made his position about secretary Hegseeth quite clear.

“He has absolutely faith in the secretary’s assets to lead the Pentagon, so he nominated him for this position.”
She added: “He will continue to focus on standing up for our war fighters, on the implementation of the peace of President Trump through strength Foreign Policy Agenda abroad and the president supports him in his role.”

Last week Hegseeth was mocked about claims that he lit a surprising make-over green for the entire GLAM suite, which it was said to have cost a few thousand dollars in the end.

Rep. Don Beyer (D-VA) also renewed calls for Hegseeth to be fired and said: “He has shown a pattern of flagrant contempt for the rules and responsibilities that have been entrusted to his office and made it clear that he is unsuitable and not qualified to serve as Our Minister of Defense.”
He added: “As he stated earlier: every security professional” would be fired on the spot for this kind of behavior and criminal prosecuted because he was so reckless with this kind of information.

“The Minister of Defense is not above the law. He is not exempt from the standards that every service member must be held in the Ministry of Defense.
“HegseTh must be at least immediately resigned. If he refuses, President Trump has to remove him without delay. Every day he continues to be a threat to American national security.”

“He was placed there to get rid of many bad people and that’s what he does, so you don’t always have friends when you do that.”
The president further suggested: “Ask the Houthis how much dysfunction there is. There is none. Pete is doing great. Everyone is happy with him.”
Hegseeth also said that he does not deduct and explains: “I have not blinked and I will not blink because this job is too big and too important for American people and I am grateful for every occasion that President gave me.”
