In her new book MatriarchTina, 71, recalled the first week of Beyoncé on a “Little Toddler School” in Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church, where she took a break from the beauty school to check her daughter.
Tina’s heart sank while she saw the other children laughing at the playground together, but there was her daughter – all alone.
She wrote: “Then I saw her. It was the most sad face: Beyoncé was only on the swing set and pushed an empty swing.

“A little girl stopped at me, pausing to catch her her friends. I said,” You know, I think that girl is looking for someone to play with. She would push you on the swing. “

Tina remembered a frightening house fire that started in her daughter’s bedroom.

However, the harsh words did not only come from the classmates of Beyoncé at that time.
Tina remembered how one of her daughter’s teachers as a young child had sparkled as a ‘slow’, and explained: ‘She said, as if this was an awkward comment:’ You know, I know you had to start on Beyoncé Young. But she is struggling. ‘
“I heard it ‘needed’ and felt her standing up in my neck. I didn’t do anything with my child for ease, but what more mattered was that this was the first I heard she had a hard time.”
