Lucasfilm reveals ‘The Ninth Jedi’ series at Star Wars Celebration

Lucasfilm leaders had more surprises on the last day of the three-day Star Wars Celebration fan event in Tokyo. A new party of nine “Star Wars: Visions” Shorts will debut on Disney+on October 29, and the Longform series “The Ninth Jedi”, a spin-off of an earlier “Visions” shorts, by writer director Kenji Kamiyama.
The “The Ninth Jedi” series was announced with Fanfare at the James Waugh event, Lucasfilm’s senior VP of Franchise content and Dtrategy in Lucasfilm. He mentioned Kamiyama on stage, “who thanked the public for being so supportive and enthusiastic about the adventures of Kara and Juro in ‘The Ninth Jedi’ and the upcoming ‘Child of Hope’, said Disney’s Starwars.com official fansite.
“He then announced that fans will see Kara’s journey unfold in a completely new spin-off called” Star Wars: Visions presents – the ninth Jedi, “the site explained.
“Star Wars: Visions” premiered on Disney+ in 2021. The first collection of nine animated shorts included a called “The Ninth Jedi”, described as such: “The daughter of a light sword-Smith is being chased by dark forces while on a dangerous mission.” That short film contained Chinatsu Akasaki in the voice of Lah Kara and Tetsuo Kanao as Margrave Juro.
The second season of nine Shorts arrived in May 2023. From that party, the episode earned entitled “Screecher’s Reach” last year the Emmy Award for direction in an animated television/media production for Helmer Paul Young.
The third part of “Star Wars: Visions” contains a short “Child of Hope” that continues the “ninth Jedi” story of Kara and Juro. There is no immediate word about a premiere date for the Longform series.
Disney and Lucasfilm have stem -franchise -news stumbled during the Tokyo event in an attempt to generate strong buzz for upcoming TV, film and gaming releases. Earlier in the day, the studio gave an overview that “Fortnite” will launch its largest season with Star Wars theme with the release of “Galactic Battle”. This update includes the popular fan fiction character Darth Jar Jar.
