SymbyAI raises $2.1M seed to make science research easier

SymbyaiA SaaS platform used AI to streamline scientific research announced a $ 2.1 million seed round with participation of Drive Capital and CharacterVC, among others.
The platform was launched last year last year by Ashia Livaudais and Michael House and offers organized workplaces for researchers to gain access to articles, code, data and experiences in one place. It helps to keep track of progress and has an AI function that helps with peer review and replication.
“It is also important to note that Symbyai is built on its own AI solution, so that users do not have to worry about accidentally sending confidential information to OpenAI, Anthropic or another company,” Livaudais told WAN. The intellectual property of the researchers remains the property of the owners and is not used to train the underlying models of Symbyai.
Livaudais said she started the company after she dealt with the archaic system for assessing and creating science from first -hand.
“The basis of Symby was formed in creating a solution to a problem that I was confronted with every day, and then they realized that my colleagues in the research community were looking for solutions for exactly the same problems,” she said. “By the time we realized that we could successfully and repeatedly shorten critical research processes from months to hours, the demand for a produced version began to come from almost every discovery interview I had.”
Symbyai cooperates with academic publishers, research organizations and universities. Livaudais said she met her investors by first participating in the GBETA program, which is part of Gener8tor. Through the GBETA program, Livaudais connected with its first investors, including Antler, of which Livaudais said it had an early chance of Symby by also investing in the pre-Seeded Round.
The company is now planning to use the Fresh Seed Capital to keep building the company and fulfilling first partnerships.
