Mike Myers wears ‘Canada is not for sale’ shirt on ‘SNL’

In his first “Saturday Night Live” performance in 10 years, Mike Myers made a good splash on both the top and the end of the show.
The actor appeared on stage with host Shane Gillis and musical guest Tate McRae while the credits rolled with a black T-shirt that read “Canada is not for sale”, with a Canadian flag in the middle. Myers, who was born in Scarborough, Ontario, made sure he opened his vest and showed off the message on the T-shirt loud and clear, as Gillis said his thanks.
He also expressed the camera, ‘elbows up’, an expression that often means to protect yourself or to participate.
President Donald Trump has made several comments in recent months about the willing that Canada will be the 51st state. In February he doubled during an interview on Fox News and said that his conversations about annexing the country are ‘real’.
“I think Canada would be much better off to be the 51st state, because we lose $ 200 billion a year with Canada. And I’m not going to let that happen, “he said during the interview. “Why do we pay $ 200 billion a year, essentially a subsidy for Canada?”
Meyers was part of the cold open of the show of March 1. In the sketch, which the Zenskyy meeting of Trump has recreated, Myers Elon Musk portrayed, who stormed halfway through the conversation with a chainsaw in his hand. He then asked the president: “What are you doing in my office? You know, I am the president now, right? I’m joking. I’m joking. Maybe not? “
The actor was a cast member on “SNL” for six seasons from 1989 to 1995. Although he no longer appeared in a regular episode of “Saturday Night Live” since 2015, he appeared during last month’s epic “SNL50” special. He reproduced his role as Linda Richman, a part that he played famous in his “Coffee Talk” sketches from 1991 to 1994.
