Indian comedy ‘Dupahiya’ in the small city drives to Prime Video

Prime Video runs his Indian originals with ‘Dupahiya’, a Heartland Comedy series that combines charm in the small city with a quirky hairdresser.
The series of nine episode, which marks the debut production of Bombay Film Cartel Banner, follows the chaos that burst out in the fictional village of Dhadakpur when a valued motorcycle is missing just as the community is about to celebrate 25 years of crime -free. The title “Dupahiya” of the show translates into “Tweewieler” in the Hindi.
Sonam Nair helped, the series contains experienced actors Gajraj Rao (“Badhaai Ho”) and Renuka Shahane (“Hum Aapke Hain Koun ..!”) In addition to rising stars Bhuvan Arora, Sparsh Shrivastava, Shivani Raghuvanshi and character factor Yashpal.
Salona Bains Joshi and Shubh Shivdasani serve as makers and executive producers among their Bombay film cartel banner, with the script written by Avinash Dwivedi and Chirag Garg.
“The series combines humor, heart and essence of India in the small city beautifully in a way that feels both distinctive and universally related,” says Nikhil Madhok, head of originals at Prime Video India. He adds that the show matches the strategy of the streamer to offer a platform to fresh storytellers and productions led by women.
Director Nair describes the series as “a celebration of humor, chaos and the peculiarities of life in small cities”, while makers Joshi and Shivdasani are emphasized on “family, pleasure and the universal dreams of ordinary people”.
The series streams in India and in 240+ countries and areas worldwide from 7 March, member of the growing schedule of original Video India with hits such as “Paatal Lok”, “Mirzapur”, “Stroper” and “Indian police”.
