Georgia offers excellent holiday destinations to escape the summer heat. Most resorts and campsites are available all year round. This is a chance to enjoy luxury hotels with spa facilities and golf courses or camp in your tent or recreational vehicle. Water sports are possible everywhere.
Blythe Island Regional Park and Campground
This beautiful area is located in Brunswick. It offers fresh and saltwater fishing, boating and swimming. Canoes and kayaks are available for rent. The campground has 97 campsites suitable for RVs and tents, picnic pavilions, horseshoe fields for tournaments, hiking and biking trails, and even an archery range.
Blythe Island also has a boat launch area, docks and bait sales. During the summer, reservations for the campsites are required. The Coastal RV Resort and Southern Retreat RV Park are also located in Brunswick, close to Blythe Island and other barrier islands.
Tybee Island
Tybee Island is Georgia’s most popular beach, just a 20-minute drive from Savannah. Hotels, Airbnb facilities and other short-term rentals are available on this barrier island with three miles of beaches. Special tours are available in season to look for dolphins and whales. The island also offers guided bike tours, historical tours and a Tiki Boat Adventure. Pontoon boats and jet skis can be rented.

Cool down Six flags over Georgia Water Park. This water park offers whitewater sensations. During summer it is open daily from 11am to 7pm. Enjoy the wave pool, slide pool, Black Rover Fall, Buccaneer Bay and other water adventures.

Jekyll Island
Jekyll Island is one of the most popular barrier islands in Georgia, with many activities available to visitors. The 8 miles of beaches, golf courses, horse riding and hiking trails are just some of the attractions on this famous island. The island has several resorts, short-term rentals, a campground and Airbnb accommodations.

Float in tubes down the Chattahoochee River to cool off as you explore the city of Helen, in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Georgia. This unique Bavarian-style village offers excellent accommodation, wine tasting and even cable cars. Lodging includes cabins, condos and a campsite.
You can also cool off at the Anna Ruby falls in the Chattachoochee-Oconee National Forest. The two waterfalls are accessible via a trail near the visitor center.
