7th Heaven’s Beverly Mitchell embraces the fact that he isn’t the “nice” friend

Beverley Mitchell fully embraces being a good friend rather than a “nice” friend.
“So this year for me is all about discoveries,” says the 7th heaven44, the star said in one Instagram role uploaded on Monday January 5. “And one of the things I’ve always struggled with is being the friend who doesn’t get invited to the fun stuff.”
Mitchell continued, “I’m not the fun friend. I’m not the friend you want to take on vacation, go out with your girls, or be in a big group for very long.”
The actress confessed that she got “very upset” because she wasn’t “invited to something,” but a “very wise” friend gave her a new perspective.
“She said, ‘Are you comfortable in groups?’ and I said, ‘No, not particularly, I like one-on-one attention.’ She says, “What about the fact that maybe your girlfriend knew you weren’t comfortable in that situation and didn’t want to put you in that position because she knows you’re uncomfortable? Because she knows you like one-on-one conversations,” she muses. “I’m not good at small talk. I like to work in depth. I really want to know what’s going on in someone’s life.”
Mitchell explained that she does well as a friend if she has a “deep connection” with that person.
“That’s the friend I am. That’s how I come across best to my friends. When I can really peel back those onion layers,” she said. “So this year, I’m fully embracing how I stand up for my friends and what kind of friend I am. I’m the friend you call when things get tough; I’m the friend you call when things go wrong. I’m the friend you call when you’re trying to work through something. We all need friends like that.”
While coming to terms with the fact that she wasn’t the “fun and funny friend,” Mitchell admitted that she was “proud” to be “the friend who showed up.”
“I’m also the girl who doesn’t have billions of friends and that’s okay too,” she said. “I think this year is about embracing the things that we are and letting go of all the things that weren’t there.”
Mitchell’s heartfelt video resonated with fans, who shared that they have experienced similar situations.
“I love the authenticity. As I get older I realize how great it is to be comfortable with yourself and have only those few true friends. Keep sharing ✨🤍,” one user wrote in the comments section.
Mitchell responded, “Should we just make something of this? Straight talk.”
Another fan told Mitchell that her message was something she “needed to hear.”
“I feel this so deeply and have never heard anyone else say it. ❤️❤️❤️,” she confessed, to which Mitchell replied, “I’m so happy! That’s why I felt compelled to share it!”
Mitchell is best known for her starring role in 7th heaven as Lucy Camden. The WB show lasted 11 seasons from 1996 to 2006. She later appeared on The Secret Life of the American Teenager and in several holiday films.
