60 years of ITB Berlin: 15 special anniversary moments on the Berlin exhibition grounds | News

From March 3 to 5, 2026, ITB Berlin will celebrate its 60th anniversary with some special highlights: from an after-work event and a journey through time in a DeLorean to community art and a 60-second round of applause, the industry honors its past while looking to the future.

What started in 1966 as part of an overseas import fair with nine exhibitors from five countries and 250 visitors, has grown into the world’s leading tourism fair with more than 5,000 exhibitors. Six decades after its launch, ITB Berlin stands stronger than ever for dialogue, innovation and the unifying power of travel. With the slogan ’60 Years of Legacy’, ITB Berlin combines business, networking, content and cultural dialogue at the fairgrounds and puts the spotlight on important future travel topics. At the same time, it offers visitors small, surprising experiences for three days that arouse emotions and make their visit an unforgettable event. An overview of all activities can be found online at 60 years – ITB Berlin.

A time to celebrate, connect and create together

On day one, March 3 at 3 p.m., the community is in for a special event. With the ’60-Second Cheer for the Travel Industry’, ITB Berlin invites everyone to a 60-second round of applause throughout the entire fair – as a sign of recognition for colleagues, stand neighbors, service staff and everyone who shapes the travel industry. A powerful symbol of solidarity and commitment in one of the most dynamic industries in the world.

Berlin’s neighborhood culture meets international networking in the new ITB Spätiin Hall 7.2c. Inspired by Berlin’s iconic 24-hour corner stores, this location will be the main meeting place for tours, presentations, happy hours and daily bingo rounds during the show. On the first day, a unique tape artwork will unfold live here – a creative highlight of the anniversary edition.
